This is a story about 2 eggs. One hatches early and the bird progresses quickly. The other egg is more delayed and by the time she hatches her sister is a star and gains much of the attention of the parents. But, baby birds friends all chip in to help her learn to fly while her parents are busy with sister.

This story came from the idea that often there are times when one child receives more attention than the other. Maybe one is sick, or is heading to a competition or a performance. When this happens the other sibling will often feel left behind. This story is to remind children that it is okay to have these feelings, it is something that happens to other kids as well and there are friends and family around that can help fill in some of those gaps.

I was lucky enough to have the talented 8-year old Ashton illustrate the book with such lively detail.
